The Myo armband measures the electrical activity from your muscles to detect what gesture your hand is making. It also senses all of the motions and rotations of your hand and forearm.
The Myo armband works with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. It connects to these compatible technologies via a Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy connection.
We provide international shipping for just 10 USD (before taxes and duties). Unfortunately, any taxes and duties imposed by your country are out of our control.
Key features include a Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy connection, proprietary muscle activity (EMG) sensors, an ARM processor, a 9-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, micro-USB charging, and haptic feedback.
The Myo device has an on-board rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. We are constantly optimizing the battery life performance and are shooting for multi-day usage.
Our armband has been designed as a one-size-fits-all device that will accommodate most people.
In certain applications, one person will be able to use two Myo armbands at the same time. This functionality will be application-dependent, and not all applications will make use of two.
Yes, but it can only be connected to (i.e. controlling) one device at a time.
Because we want you to have a seamless experience out of the box, we’re going to be providing pre-set gestures that are easily recognizable. Third-party software developers will be able to determine what each gesture means within their application.
The Myo device uses a unique "on/off" gesture (that is unlikely to occur naturally) to enable and disable control. When the Myo device is enabled and detecting movement, the user will be alerted via vibration.
We currently plan to begin shipping final Myo units in mid-2014, after all Myo Developer Kits have been shipped out.
If you are unhappy with your Myo armband, you’ll have 30 days from the date of delivery to return it for a refund. Please see our Terms of Sale for more details.
Please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any inquiries you may have!
The Myo Developer Kit is an early version of the Myo armband intended for software developers. This version will ship only with support for a bare API and will not have any consumer applications initially available.
No. The hardware between the two versions of Myo will be the same.
If you have experience creating software and love getting fully immersed in the latest technology, the Myo Developer Kit is for you. If you prefer a more seamless out of the box experience, the final version is best for you.
While you don’t need to be a software developer to switch to the developer kit, please be aware that Myo Developer Kits will only be useful and enjoyable to those with a certain level of computer programming expertise.
We currently plan to begin shipping out Myo Developer Kits in the first half of 2014. The final consumer version of the Myo armband will be shipping mid-2014 once all Myo Developer Kits have shipped.
The main difference between the Myo Developer Kit and the final Myo armband will be the initial software and firmware. While you will be able to develop with both versions, the Myo Developer Kit will allow you to start developing earlier with a Myo in hand.
